Alchemia Limited The collaboration with Alchemia began in July, 2006. Alchemia's VAST™ library is a small molecule library mimicking peptide structures for which a unique set of traditionally, challenging GPCR's for drug development have been selected for screening. Alchemia and Euroscreen were recently awarded a special grant from the Queensland government. We anticipate at least one promising program for partnering to result from these efforts by 2008/2009 which would then be partnered by Alchemia and Euroscreen. Cephalon Inc Following our first three year Cephalon collaboration, the collaboration became our first major drug development partnership with the term extended for an additional two years. GNF (The Novartis Institute for Functional Genomics, Inc.) We are pursuing collaborative therapeutic antibody programs with partners, in addition to our own small molecule therapeutics due to our research capabilities in the area of anti-GPCR antibodies. In our agreement with GNF, we pursue the development of functional antibodies against different GPCRs. While Euroscreen makes mouse antibodies and characterize their agonist or antagonist activities, GNF will then take in charge the development of therapeutic human antibodies and clinical assays. Medarex Inc While our Medarex agreement is primarily a license agreement for the rights to make antibodies to exclusively licensed Euroscreen targets, we support the research activities at Medarex to every extent possible with our own expertise. If Medarex is successful and proceeds to market, this deal will provide significant milestones and royalties payments to Euroscreen. Novartis Pharma AG Euroscreen’s research collaboration with Novartis Pharma targets the identification of the natural ligands of orphan receptors. Novartis is responsible for subsequent drug discovery activities for these receptors in exchange of downstream payments. |
